Get Started with Elzo Forms

Elzo Forms helps you create WordPress forms, collect submissions, control form behavior, and extend your workflows with Elzo Forms PRO.

Use this guide when you are new to Elzo Forms and want to understand where to begin.

What you can do with Elzo Forms

With Elzo Forms, you can build practical WordPress forms for your website without writing code.

You can use the free version to:

  • create forms visually inside WordPress;
  • add flexible form fields;
  • configure field labels, required fields, and other settings;
  • use conditional logic;
  • build multi-step forms;
  • collect and review submissions in WordPress.

Elzo Forms PRO extends the free version with advanced workflow features, including automation actions, PRO-only condition types, webhooks, redirects, cookies, global automations, and automation logs.

Where to start

Start with one form and make sure it works from beginning to end.

A good first form is a simple contact or request form with:

  • a name field;
  • an email field;
  • a message field;
  • a submit button.

After you publish the form, submit a test entry and confirm that the submission appears in WordPress.

Create your first form

To create your first form:

  1. Open your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to the Elzo Forms area.
  3. Create a new form.
  4. Add the fields you need.
  5. Review each field label and required setting.
  6. Save the form.
  7. Add the form to a WordPress page.
  8. Submit a test entry.
  9. Check that the submission was saved.

The exact form fields depend on what you want to collect. Keep your first form small so you can confirm the full flow before adding more fields or logic.

Review submissions

After someone submits a form, Elzo Forms can store the entry in WordPress.

Use the submissions area to review submitted entries and confirm that your form is collecting the expected information.

If a submission does not appear, check the form settings, required fields, validation messages, and any JavaScript or caching issues on the page.

When to use conditional logic

Use conditional logic when a field should appear, hide, or behave differently based on another field or rule.

For example, you may show an extra message field only when a visitor selects a specific option.

Start with simple conditional logic first. After the form works, add more conditions only when they make the form easier to complete.

When to use Elzo Forms PRO

Use Elzo Forms PRO when you need more control around what happens during or after form submission.

PRO is useful when you want to:

  • run automation actions after a submission;
  • send data to an external URL with a webhook;
  • redirect users based on conditions;
  • set cookies after submission;
  • use PRO-only condition types such as User, URL, Cookie, and Date and Time;
  • reuse global automations across multiple forms;
  • review automation logs.

The free version is a strong form builder on its own. PRO is for advanced workflows and extended form behavior.

Troubleshooting

I do not know which page to read next

My form does not submit

Check required fields, validation messages, browser console errors, caching, and possible theme or plugin conflicts.

I do not receive email notifications

First confirm that the submission was saved in WordPress. If the submission exists but the email does not arrive, review your notification settings and consider using an SMTP plugin for reliable delivery.

I do not see PRO features

Confirm that Elzo Forms PRO is installed, active, and licensed on the site.
