Submissions Screen

This page explains how to view submitted form entries in Elzo Forms.

Use the submissions screen when you want to confirm that a form is collecting entries and review the information visitors submitted.

What submissions are

A submission is an entry created when a visitor submits a form.

A saved submission may include:

  • submitted field values;
  • the form that received the entry;
  • submission date and time;
  • additional technical or context information, depending on your setup.

Submissions help you confirm that a form works even when email delivery needs separate configuration.

Open submissions

To review submissions:

  1. Open your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to the Elzo Forms area.
  3. Open the submissions area.
  4. Select the form or entry you want to review.
  5. Open the submission details.

The exact menu labels may depend on your installed version.

Review a submission

When you open a submission, check that the saved values match what was entered in the form.

Review:

  • name and contact values;
  • selected options;
  • message or description fields;
  • uploaded files, if file uploads are enabled;
  • hidden or contextual values, if used;
  • any internal notes or metadata shown by your version.

If a value is missing, review the field settings and any conditional logic that affects that field.

Use submissions to confirm form success

A form submission and an email notification are separate things.

If the submission is saved in WordPress, the form submitted successfully.

If the email does not arrive, the issue is usually related to email notification settings, hosting mail delivery, spam filtering, or SMTP configuration.

This distinction is useful when troubleshooting.

Find submissions for a specific form

If your site has multiple forms, make sure you are looking at the correct form’s entries.

Use the available filters, form labels, or entry details to identify the form.

Use clear form names so submissions are easier to recognize later.

Protect submitted data

Only collect information you actually need.

Before publishing a form, consider:

  • whether each field is necessary;
  • who can access submissions in WordPress;
  • how long you need to keep entries;
  • whether uploaded files are required;
  • whether the form collects sensitive information.

Elzo Forms stores form data inside your WordPress environment, so site access and security settings matter.

Delete or manage entries

If your installed version includes entry management actions, use them carefully.

Before deleting submissions, make sure you no longer need them for your workflow, customer communication, legal obligations, or internal records.

If you are unsure, export or back up data before deleting it.

Troubleshooting

I do not see a submission after sending the form

Confirm that the form showed a success response. Then check required fields, validation messages, caching, JavaScript errors, and possible security plugin blocks.

I see the submission, but email did not arrive

The form likely submitted correctly. Review email notification settings and SMTP configuration.

A field value is missing

Check whether the field was hidden by conditional logic, whether the visitor completed it, and whether the field was saved correctly.

I cannot find the right form’s submissions

Check the form name and available filters. Rename forms clearly if multiple forms have similar names.
